The Louviers Green Valerian is a highly variable perennial plant with a simple stem ranging from 20 to 120 cm in height. Its pinnate leaves feature serrated leaflets, providing an attractive foliage display. During spring and summer, it bears small pale pink flowers arranged in a dense terminal corymb. The underground organs, including rhizomes, roots, and stolons, are harvested for use. The rhizomes, which can be ovoid or cylindrical, measure 3-5 cm in length and are covered in fine rootlets. Once pulverized, they present a light brownish color and a characteristic, penetrating smell. This variety is robust and hardy, tolerant of cold, and is distinctly noted for its spoon-shaped leaves. Planting: Sow directly from July to October. Harvest: From September to March.
